Dickinson

It's funny how you can always find connection between you and a character from a movie/tv series you're watching.

I guess that's what we call humanity. Underneath the complex emotional riddle that we manifest differently in our everyday personalities, we just came after the same purpose. Trying to survive and belong.

Watching Dickinson, I feel a profound connection to Emily's character. There's something about her passion for writing that reminds me of my younger self. I used to be that girl, who stay up late to write a blog post amidst the abundance of class assignments.

Obviously, I can't compare myself to a legend like Emily Dickinson. But, the series has successfully resuscitated the very side of me that could find simple happiness from writing. An activity that I love the most. Even when I don't get paid for it.

So with that, I made a new commitment today with Better Together to write more regularly from now on. It's a terrifying one. Or at least, it feels like it just because I haven't really "do" it. But I believe, it'll get easier with time. We'll see!
