Today I woke up feeling groggy as usual. After finished replying to messages from last night, I started thinking about what am I going to do today? What should I focus on when it comes to work? And by the way, should we work from home, or should we work outside today? Oh, and while we’re at it, should we think about what we’re gonna have for lunch? But I think to myself “let’s save the trouble for later. I’m just starving now.”
So I throw my duvet out of my chest and started walking to the fridge. Pulled an apple and yogurt and mixed them in a bowl. While munching the apple, I started to think about how many meetings I have for the day ahead. Today is a release day, so I expect my schedule will be packed, though I can’t remember exactly. After mulling about it for a short period of time, I digressed and started to distract myself by reading Twitter timeline instead.
While shouting to Google Assistant to play some music for me, I just realized that my wi-fi was in trouble since last night. Great! So I can’t work from home today. One less decision-making to think about.
Then something occurred to me. “Oh well, look how missing one ingredient can mess up your day.”
And just like that, I realized that this world is just like a kitchen and everyone is a chef. We constantly reinvent our menu every day. The people we meet and the work we do are the ingredients. Our everyday activities are the step by step. Our health is the stove. Transportation and technology are the appliances.
But then the question is, what is the result of all this? What’s the food look like? The chef should invent something, right?
Well, I guess, it’s all up to us to interpret. After all, we cook by ourselves and for ourselves. So maybe, in the end, we don't really need to ask a master chef to put a score to our life.
